A beautiful Victorian solid gold whistle/compass. This unusual piece is from the Victorian period (ca1880) and is made from solid 14kt yellow gold. It is a whistle, probably used for hunting, which has a handy compass on the end. The whistle is in excellent working condition and as far as I can tell, the compass is also in good working condition. The piece is stamped "14-K", "314" and what looks to be to "WHW" on the underside of the mouth of the whistle. It has a bail on it and would look great worn as a pendant or a charm!
Measurements: The whistle/compass measures approximately 2 7/16" long, 3/4" wide and 1/4" thick.
Condition: The overall condition of the piece is good. Although the whistle and compass are in excellent condition, there are two small dents in the gold on the barrel of the whistle, 1 on each side. This is not uncommon for a piece of this age.
