An absolutely magnificent carved onyx pendant from the Victorian (ca1880) era! This gorgeous and unusual piece is made of solid black onyx and is hand carved into the shape of a beautiful celestial crescent. On the front of the piece is an ornate design made of 14kt yellow gold and accented with 8 natural pearls which graduate in size. The pearls line the interior of the moon, giving the piece wonderful depth and textured. On the back of the onyx crescent is a simple bail, allowing the piece to be hung from a simple gold chain. It's a beautiful and unusual piece from the Victorian era and would make a great addition to any collection!
Measurements: The pendant measures approximately 1 3/8" long, a little more than 1 1/4" wide and slightly more than 1/4" thick.
Condition: The overall condition of the pendant is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the onyx or gold and all of the pearls are intact.
