A beautiful and unusual bangle bracelet from the Victorian (ca1880) period! Made of sterling silver, this fabulous piece has a simple and attractive design. The bracelet has a smooth, rich black enamel surface which carries around the entire exterior and set on the front is the word RECUERDO (meaning "memory" or "souvenir") spelled in delicate natural seed pearls. The letters are stand out beautifully against the black background, creating a beautiful and bold design. The bracelet is hinged and clasps at the side at a decorative etched sterling clasp. The interior is stamped "MM" along with a small hallmark. The black and white color scheme would compliment any ensemble and gives the piece a very wearable, everyday look. This bold Victorian bracelet blends seamlessly into modern day fashion and would look fabulous worn alone or stacked with a group of similar bracelets!
Measurements: The inside of the bracelet (where a wrist would rest) measures 2 3/8" wide and approximately 2" tall. The surface is approximately 1/4" wide.
Condition: The overall condition of the bracelet is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the sterling setting or black enamel surface and all of the seed pearls are intact. The clasp fastens securely and is in good working condition.
