A fantastic diamond crescent pin from the Victorian (ca1880) era! Made of sterling topped 18kt yellow gold, the piece forms the shape of a magnificent crescent. Particularly large in size, the entire front surface is encrusted with three rows of 90 sparkling Mine Cut diamonds, weighing approximately 12ctw. The bead set diamonds, which vary slightly in size, color, and clarity, are graduated with the larger diamonds at the center and the smaller diamonds at the tips. From the side, you can see a scalloped wirework design in yellow gold and delicate milgrained detail adds a finishing touch to the outer edges of the front of the pin. The back of the piece reveals a gold bar pin clasp, which fastens securely in place. A truly breathtaking piece, this bold pin looks impressive when worn. It would make a stunning addition to any jewelry collection!
Measurements: The crescent measures 2 3/8" tall, 2 1/4" wide and 3/8" thick.
Condition: The overall condition of the pin is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the sterling topped gold and all of the diamonds are intact. The clasp fastens securely and is in good working condition.
