A simply beautiful sterling locket from the Victorian (ca1880) era! Particularly large in size, this wonderful piece is made of sterling silver and has a gorgeous floral design engraved on the front of the locket. The feminine design features several spring flowers in bloom encircled by a feathered border. Surrounding the locket is a border of sterling balls, completing the unique design. The back of the piece is engraved with a set of monogrammed initials in a flowing cursive script and the inside of the locket opens to reveal a space to store a favorite photograph behind glass. The piece hangs from a sterling fluted bail, which is perfect for hanging from a long Victorian chain. It is a lovely example of Victorian artistry and would make a spectacular addition to any collection!
Measurements: The locket hangs slightly less than 3" long, is 1 5/8" wide and 1/2" thick.
Condition: The overall condition of the locket is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the silver and the locket opens easily and stays securely closed. The bail is secure and in good working condition.
