Victorian Sterling Hinged Beadwork Bangle Bracelet
A wonderful sterling bracelet from the Victorian (ca1880) era! This beautiful sterling silver piece has a fine wirework and raised design across the front surface, comprised of filigree dots and rows of raised rectangular shapes. Lining the top and bottom edges of the front of the piece is delicate sterling beadwork, which adds a beautiful finishing touch to the piece. It appears that the bracelet once had a gold wash, which is now only subtly visible in between the decorative elements and inside the band. The bracelet is hinged and fastens on the side with a secure push clasp. A simply gorgeous piece, the bracelet has a classic Victorian look that blends seamlessly into modern day fashion. Both versatile and perfect for everyday wear, this fashionable bracelet would make a lovely addition to any collection!
Measurements: The surface of the bracelet measures about 7/8" wide on the front and 1" on the back and has a depth of approximately 1/8". The inside opening (where your wrist would rest) measures 2 3/8" wide and approximately 1 7/8" tall.
Condition: The overall condition of the bracelet is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the sterling silver setting, and the clasp and hinge are secure and in good working condition. The remaining gold wash is still subtly visible and adds a unique look, but could be easily polished off or re-plated if desired.
