Victorian 15kt Gold Onyx & Enamel Bracelet Set
A gorgeous pair of matching bangle bracelets from the Victorian (ca1880) era! The bracelets are made of 15kt gold (indicating English origin), and have a simple, yet very stylish design with a squared, oval shape. Their black color scheme suggests that they may have originally been worn as mourning jewelry. On the front of each bracelet is a single row of faceted onyx stones in a channel setting. The onyx stones have a rich black color and are square in shape with a raised face. The opposing side of the bracelet is decorated with smooth, black enamel, complimenting the onyx perfectly. The bracelets are hinged and clasp on the side, where a safety chain is incorporated within the design for added security. Both versatile and fashionable, this bracelet set looks fantastic paired together and could also be worn in a stack of complimentary bangles. Perfect for everyday wear, they would make a gorgeous addition to any collection!
Measurements: The inside of the bracelets (where a wrist would rest) measures 2 1/4" wide and slightly more than 2" tall. The surface of the bracelet measures slightly less than 1/4" wide and is 3/16" thick.
Condition: The overall condition of both bracelets is excellent. There is some surface wear on the inside of one of the bracelets, including a few small dings to the gold, however it is not visible when worn, and is normal for a piece from the Victorian era. All of the onyx stones are intact and there is no damage, chips, or scratches in the enamel. The clasps are secure and in good working condition, and both safety chains are intact.
