Victorian 15kt Gold "Good Luck" Horseshoe Bracelet
A fabulous horseshoe bracelet from the Victorian (ca1880) era! This gorgeous piece is made of 15kt yellow gold (indicating English origin) and forms the shape of a large horseshoe. The front side of the bracelet is detailed with 7 raised gold nails (always 7 for good luck!) atop a shallow groove. The u-shaped bracelet curves comfortably around your wrist and is hinged at the bottom to easily slide on and off the wrist. There is a gold safety chain connecting the two ends for added security and a small charm with a vibrant lapis stone hangs from the chain, adding a colorful accent. This bracelet is a very fashionable, classic piece that could be worn alone or stacked with other bracelets. It would be a perfect piece for the equestrian enthusiast or the fashion conscious woman!
Measurements: The opening (where a wrist would rest) measures approximately 2 1/4" wide and 1 1/2" tall when closed. When opened, the bracelet expands to 2 3/8" tall to accommodate a larger wrist when worn. The surface of the bangle measures approximately 1/4" at the widest point and is 3/8" tall.
Condition: The overall condition of the bracelet is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold setting. The bracelet opens easily and stays securely closed, and the hinge and safety chain are both in good condition.
