An exceptional Etruscan snake bracelet from the Victorian (ca1880) era! This fabulous piece is made of vibrant 15kt yellow gold (indicating that it is of English origin) and resembles a gold bar that wraps around the wrist and meets at the front. Each end of the bar ends in a beautiful gold ball that is detailed with delicate Etruscan wirework. A slithering gold snake is wrapped around the front of the bracelet, with its tail curling around the top of one of the gold Etruscan balls and its head extending towards the other. The snake displays engraved scales on the front surface and its eyes are represented by two bead set rubies. The bracelet is hinged and opens at the side, with a safety chain for extra security. The bracelet is absolutely gorgeous and looks simply marvelous when worn. It would be perfect for any snake lover and would make a beautiful addition to any jewelry collection!
Measurements: The inside of the bracelet (where a wrist would rest) measures 2 1/8" wide and 1 5/8" tall and would fit a small to average sized wrist.
Condition: The overall condition of the bracelet is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold and the ruby stones are both intact. The push clasp is in good working condition and the bracelet opens easily and fastens shut securely.
