Stunning and unusual micro mosaic cufflinks from the Victorian (ca1880) era! These double-sided cufflinks are round in shape and display gorgeous onyx plaques with micro mosaic images in the center. Each onyx stone is set within a 14kt yellow gold frame and all of the mosaic images are of handsome birds. Three of the images are matching and of the same type of bird, with brown and white feathers and a red head and one of them is a bird with blue and white feathers (this was possibly a replacement for one of the original faces). A long oval shaped gold link connects the front to the back cufflink and the stones have a closed, gold back. A classic pair of cufflinks, these would look fabulous worn by a man or woman!
Measurements: Each round onyx plaque, including the gold frame, has a diameter 5/8" and has a depth of 1/4".
Condition: The overall condition of the cufflinks is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold settings and only minor surface wear to the onyx and mosaic plaques.
