Bohemian garnet jewelry dates back to the 19th century. During this time, garnets were one of the most popular types of stones used in jewelry production. The garnets were often placed close together in an effort to produce a more pronounced color and brightness than when they were set singularly. Most often, bohemian garnet jewelry was set in a closed back setting made of rose gold gilt over silver; this method is sometimes referred to as 'garnet gold'.

A pair of gorgeous fiery red Bohemian garnet earrings from the Victorian (ca1880) era! These stunning earrings begin with a clover of faceted garnets which hangs from a sterling silver wire. Dangling from the garnet clover are 2 faceted stones and a chandelier like design, encrusted with small and larger garnet stones. Swinging from the center of this unique arch is a large, cabochon garnet which connects to a smaller, matching chandelier link. At the very bottom is a teardrop shaped cabochon, finishing the design perfectly. The garnets have vibrant red color and the earrings have beautiful movement with several eye-catching drops. All of the stones are bead set within a closed back silver gilt setting. These bohemian garnet earrings are simply exceptional, and would make a wonderful addition to any collection!

Measurement: Each earring hangs a little less than 1 1/8" long, measures 7/8” at its widest point and has a depth less than 1/8”.

Condition: The overall condition of the earrings is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to any of the bohemian garnets or to the silver gilt setting. All of the garnet stones are intact.
