A gorgeous pair of garnet earrings from the Victorian (ca1880) era! The earrings are fairly large in size and have a beautiful teardrop-shaped design. Each of these stunning earrings holds a large open backed garnet cabochon stone in the center. The deep red garnets rest in a vibrant 15kt yellow gold bezel, which is framed with a beautiful scalloped gold wire design. Each earring hangs from a gold ball topper which attaches to a simple gold earring wire. The striking design has a very elegant look when worn. A beautiful and feminine pair of earrings, they would make a wonderful addition to any Victorian collection!
Measurements: Each earring hangs approximately 2 1/8" long, measures approximately 3/4" at the widest point and has a depth of 3/8".
Condition: The overall condition of the earrings is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the garnet stones or to the gold setting. The earring wires are both secure and in good condition.
