The citrine is a member of the large quartz family, a family which has a multitude of colors and various structures. The most desirable stones have a clear, radiant yellowish to brownish red warm tone.
Simply gorgeous citrine earrings from the Victorian (ca1880) era! These wonderful earrings are made of 14kt yellow gold and Madeira citrines. Very long in length, these earrings begin with a single domed, oval cabochon smoky colored citrine surmount which holds the gold earring wires. A delicate gold bow hangs from the bottom of the cabochon citrine and attaches to small gold links. These then connect to a large oval faceted citrine which is set in 14kt gold and detailed with fine twisted wirework around it. Three dangling oval shaped citrine's hang from the bottom of the larger, faceted stone. The three dangling stones are smooth and slightly convex on the front and faceted on the back. These earrings hang long and are very light to wear. They are simply exquisite and would make a great addition to any collection!
Measurements: The earrings hang approximately 2 7/8" long, and are approximately 7/8" at their widest.
Condition: The overall condition of the earrings is excellent. The stones are secure and intact and there is no apparent damage to the gold setting or wires.
