Exquisite turquoise earrings from the Victorian (ca1880) era! With a very unusual design, each earring is made of 14kt yellow gold and turquoise. They begin with cylindrical link that has a single belcher set cabochon turquoise stone set in the center of it. From this link dangles a horizontal gold bar that has scalloped ends and 3 calibrated turquoise stones set within it. Swinging freely from this bar is an ornately detailed topped link that has 3 thin vertically hanging elliptical shaped links that are layered and hinged within the topper. Dangling in the center of the elliptical links is a gold bar that has 3 additional cabochon turquoise stones set within it. The earrings are detailed within fine engraved detail and are simply a work of art. They have a very unusual design and are certainly one of the most gorgeous and interesting pair of Victorian earrings that I have ever seen!
Measurements: Each earring hangs 2 1/2" long, measures a little more than 1/2" at the widest point and has a depth of 1/4".
Condition: The overall condition of the earrings is excellent. There is no apparent damage to the gold or to the earring wires and all of the turquoise stones are intact. There is a small chip in the corner of 1 of the calibrated turquoise stones however this is not noticeable when worn.
