A gorgeous pair of garnet earrings from the Victorian (ca1880) era! Each of these dramatic earrings holds a large open backed cabochon garnet stone in the center. The garnet rests in a 15kt yellow gold bezel which is framed with a beautiful twisted gold wire design. Each earring hangs from a decorative clover motif topper which attaches to a simple gold earring wire. At the bottom of each earring is a fabulous foxtail design comprised of 7 dangling gold tassels with speared ends. The elaborate design has a very elegant look which is striking when worn. They would make a wonderful addition to any Victorian collection!
Measurements: Each earring hangs approximately 2 1/2" long, measures approximately 5/8" at the widest point and has a depth of 1/4".
Condition: The overall condition of the earrings is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the garnet stones or to the gold setting, tassels or wires.
