A wonderful pair of 15kt yellow gold buckle earrings from the Victorian (ca1880) era! Of English origin, each earring features a 3-dimensional buckle set vertically atop an oval-shaped gold ring. The buckles curve slightly and have a rippled, wave-like effect at the bottom. Across the front of each buckle is a row of 7 old Rose Cut diamonds, which vary slightly in size, with the larger stones in the middle and the smaller stones at the ends. Each earring hangs from a gold earring wire which is securely fastened to a round, yellow gold earring topper. Very attractive with a detailed design, these marvelous earrings would make a fabulous addition to any collection!
Measurements: Each earring hangs approximately 1 3/4" long, is slightly more than 5/8" at the widest point and has a depth of 1/4".
Condition: The overall condition of the earrings is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold oval rings, buckle detail or to the earring wires, and all of the diamonds are intact.
