Wonderful ruby and pearl tassel earrings from the Victorian era (ca1880)! Each earring is made of 15kt yellow gold, and begins with an Etruscan ball topper. Below is a round gold disk, which adorns a raised star design. Five natural pearls decorate the spaces in between each point of the star and a beautiful pointed cabochon ruby rests in the center. Dangling from the bottom is a decorative tassel which has a gold topper and multiple strands of delicate rubies dangling below. The rubies are faceted, allowing them to catch the light beautifully and sparkle with a luscious, rich color. The earrings have a delicate and wonderful design that makes a lovely statement when worn. They would make a beautiful addition to any collection!
Measurements: Each earring hangs approximately 2 3/4" long and are little less than 1" at the widest point.
Condition: The overall condition of the earrings is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold and all of the rubies and pearls are intact.
