Absolutely exquisite sapphire and diamond earrings from the Victorian (ca1880) era! These gorgeous earrings are set in 18kt yellow gold with 14kt rose gold backs. Each earring features an oval-shaped sapphire cabochon that rests in the center of a border of sparkling diamonds. The deep blue sapphires are bezel set and have a total weight of approximately 6ctw (3ct in each ear). Surrounding each sapphire are 24 sparkling old European Cut diamonds, which have a shared prong mounting and rest within a scalloped border. The diamonds have a total weight of approximately 1.92ct with I-K range color and SI range clarity. The back of each earring reveals a post back with a secure, hinged clips in rose gold. The backs are stamped with several small hallmarks and the number "583." The earrings were appraised by an independent and accredited GIA-certified Gemologist in April 2014 and have a stated retail replacement value of $5,800.00. Both feminine and classically beautiful, these gorgeous earrings would look lovely worn everyday or for special occasions and would make any collection complete!
Measurements: Each earring hangs a little less than 3/4" long, is 1/2" wide, and 1/4" thick.
Condition: The overall condition of the earrings is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the rose and yellow gold setting and all of the diamonds and sapphires are intact. The earrings backs fasten securely and are in good working condition.
