Victorian 14kt Hand Carved Ivory Figa Fist Fob/Pendant
A Figa is a symbol worn around the world to attract good luck to the person wearing it. It's depicted by a single clenched fist and can be made of metal, wood, stone or ivory and is traditionally thought to bring good luck only if it is given as a gift.
A spectacular carved ivory Figa fob/pendant from the Victorian (ca1880) era! This beautiful hand carved piece is fairly large in size and wonderfully detailed. At the wrist is a 14kt yellow gold bracelet which features a vivid turquoise stone and a simple gold bail rests at the top. It would look fabulous hanging from a long gold chain and would make a wonderful addition to any collection!
Measurements: The ivory Figa pendant hangs approximately 1 5/8" long, is 5/8" at the widest point and 3/8" at the thickest point.
Condition: The overall condition of the ivory pendant is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the ivory figa or to the gold and turquoise bracelet.
