Victorian 10kt Gold & Diamond Horseshoe Locket
A lovely horseshoe locket from the Victorian (ca1880) era! This beautiful round locket is made of rosy 10kt yellow gold and carries a simple yet attractive design. Carved into the face of the locket is a lucky horseshoe, which is detailed with 19 sparkling old Mine Cut diamonds. The locket opens to reveal two glass-covered spaces to store special photographs inside. The back of the locket has a set of hand-engraved monogrammed initials in fancy script. At the top of the piece is a simple gold bail, making it easy to hang and wear from a chain. This fabulous locket is ideal for everyday wear, and perfect for the equestrian enthusiast or lover of Victorian jewelry!
Measurements: The locket hangs approximately 1 5/8" long, has a 1 1/4" diameter, and is 1/4" thick.
Condition: The overall condition of the locket is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold setting or to any of the diamonds, all of which are intact. The locket opens easily and closes securely, and the bail is in good working condition.
