A lovely locket from the Victorian (ca1880) era. This beautiful 14kt yellow gold heart shaped locket has a wonderful etched starburst design on the front with a single diamond set within in. The diamond, which is set within an 8-point starburst, is an old Mine Cut stone and has an approximate weight of 8ptw. The wonderful design is simple and has a great Victorian look. The locket opens to reveal 2 black and white photographs, one which has aged and since cracked over time. These photos are easily replaceable if desired. The back of the locket has engraved initials in fancy script; please see the images. This lovely locket would look great worn alone or with other lockets and pendants!
Measurements: The locket has measures approximately 1 1/8" at the widest point, 1 1/4" at the tallest point and is a little more than 1/8" thick. The bail measures 3/16" long.
Condition: The overall condition of the locket is excellent. There is normal surface wear to the gold on both the front and back and the diamond is intact. The locket closes easily and securely.
