A gorgeous 15kt yellow gold locket from the Victorian (ca1880) era! This stunning locket features a wonderful raised image of a royal Victorian woman. Her beautiful face is a rosy pink color of enamel and has detailed hand painted features. Her long flowing hair is graced with a gold crown which has 5 small diamonds and 4 rubies set within it. The woman also has a gold beaded necklace and a green enameled earring that is detailed by a single diamond. The locket is detailed with an floral and scrolled etched border which surrounds the face. The piece is 8-sided and opens from the top and hinged at the bottom. It hangs from a nice sized oval-shaped bail. It's a simply stunning Victorian locket that would make a wonderful addition to any collection!
Measurements: The locket hangs approximately 1 3/4" tall, a little less than 1 1/4" at its widest point, and has a depth of 3/8". The bail measures 1/4" wide and long.
Condition: The overall condition of the locket is excellent. All of the diamonds and rubies are intact and the enameling is in excellent condition. There is normal surface wear to the back of the locket which is not unusual for a Victorian piece and it closes easily and securely.
