A lovely 15kt gold locket from the Victorian (ca1880) era! This beautiful locket is made of 15kt yellow gold and a raised turquoise, pearl and diamond design on the face. The design depicts a horseshoe with vibrant, calibrated turquoise stones along with 2 natural pearls and 3 old Rose Cut diamonds that rest in a line up the center of the locket. In the center of the horseshoe is 1 diamond and 1 pearl which are attached to each other and swing slightly within the space. The oval shaped locket is a medium sized piece that hangs from a nice sized bail. The inside of the locket opens to reveal a space for your favorite photograph. It's a beautiful piece and would make a great addition to any collection!
Measurements: The locket measures approximately 1 3/8" long from the bottom of the locket to the top of the jump ring that is soldered to the top of the locket, 1" wide and is slightly less than 1/2" thick. The inside of the bail measures 3/8" long and slightly less than 1/2" at the widest point.
Condition: The overall condition of the locket is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold and all of the stones/pearls are intact. The locket closes securely and opens easily however when closed, there is a small space that can only be seen from the side.
