The piece, which has a shield-like shape, is decorated with a gorgeous Etruscan wirework design and is richly detailed with a three-dimensional look. In the middle of its raised center, sits 2 prong set old Rose Cut diamonds. A complementary fluted bail rests at the top of the piece and is large in size and perfect to fit on a thick Victorian chain. The back of the locket opens to reveal a glass covered place for your favorite photograph. This outstanding piece would look stunning worn on a heavy Victorian watch chain and would make a wonderful addition to any collection!
Measurements: The locket hangs approximately 2 3/8" long, is 1 1/4" at the widest point and 1/2" thick. The interior of the bail measures 3/8" long.
Condition: The overall condition of the locket pendant is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold piece and the diamonds are intact. The locket on the back lifts off and can be removed completely and closes easily and securely. There are a few very minor dings in the gold on the back of the piece, which is not unusual for a Victorian locket.
