The citrine is a member of the large quartz family, a family which has a multitude of colors and various structures. The most desirable stones have a clear, radiant yellow to a warm, brownish-red tone.
A gorgeous citrine necklace from the Victorian (ca1880) period! This lovely, feminine piece is comprised of 13 oval-shaped citrine stones that hang in a festoon style from a 14kt gold chain. The stones graduate slightly in size, with the smaller stones on the outside and the larger stones at center. Each citrine displays a rich golden yellow color and is faceted on both sides, catching the light beautifully when worn. The chain fastens in the back with a simple spring ring clasp. An incredibly beautiful necklace, it has a very elegant look and would look stunning worn day or night!
Measurements: The necklace measures approximately 17.5” long. The citrine stones range in size, with the largest stone measuring approximately 1/2" wide, 5/8" long, and 3/8" thick. The smallest stone measures 3/8" wide, 1/2" long, and 1/4" thick.
Condition: The overall condition of the necklace is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold chain or citrine stones, all of which are intact and free of chips. The spring ring clasp is secure and in good working condition.
