Late Victorian 14kt & Tortoise Shell Bead Necklace
Now a banned material, Antique tortoise shell jewelry has become very collectable. This gorgeous tortoise shell necklace from the Late Victorian era (ca1900) is particularly beautiful! The unusual piece is particularly long in length and comprised of 54 graduated tortoise shell beads, separated by small yellow gold spacers. The tortoise shell displays a rich, deep brown color and has wonderful hues of light caramel and amber that can be seen throughout each bead. The necklace has a bold look and is wonderfully lightweight. It's beautiful, fashionable piece that would make a fabulous addition to any jewelry collection!
Measurements: The necklace measures 26" long. The largest bead measures 20mm in diameter and the smallest 8mm.
Condition: The overall condition of the necklace is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there are no apparent chips in the tortoise shell beads, all of which are intact and the necklace is securely strung.
