An absolutely gorgeous horseshoe necklace from the Victorian (ca1880) era! Originally worn as a pin, this wonderful piece has since been converted into a lovely pendant and attached to a fine gold chain. Made of sterling topped 14kt gold, the entire front surface of the pendant is decorated with a sparkling old Rose Cut diamond design. With a total of 21 stones, the diamonds form a graduated row that runs from one tip of the horseshoe to the other weighing approximately 2.30ctw. The diamonds are prong set and have an open back and the piece hangs from a fine 10kt gold chain that fastens in the back. Horseshoe jewelry is very fashionable, and this necklace is a particularly beautiful example that looks truly gorgeous when worn!
Measurements: The chain measures 15.5" long. The horseshoe measures 1 3/8" long, is 1" wide and approximately 1/16" thick.
Condition: The overall condition of the necklace is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the sterling topped gold or to any of the diamonds, all of which are intact. The chain is is secure and the clasp is in good working condition.
