Victorian 15kt Garnet Snake Necklace/Locket

SKU: 34754

A fabulous and unusual snake necklace from the Victorian (ca1880) era! This stunning piece is made of vibrant 15kt yellow gold and portrays a flexible and hollow snake chain that comes together at a charming snake head which rests perfect at the collar of your neck. The chain has a vibrant scale-like appearance and the stunning snake has a mixed metals gold flower and leaf applique design atop its face. Fiery red cabochon garnets act as the snakes eyes and a rhodolite garnet rests at the back of the head as well as dangling from its mouth. The garnet at its mouth is set atop a small heart which has a glass covered locket back. The snake has a fabulous 3-dimensional appearance and the piece looks absolutely wonderful on. The chain clasps at the side of the snake and is hidden within the design. It's a true statement piece that looks fantastic worn. It would make a wonderful addition to any collection!

Measurements: The entire length of the necklace measures approximately 17.25" long. The snake head measures approximately 1 7/8" long and 5/8" wide.

Condition: The overall condition of the necklace is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold chain or to the snake and the clasp fastens securely and is in good working condition. All of the garnets are intact.
