A fabulous and unusual snake necklace from the Victorian (ca1880) era! This stunning piece is made of vibrant 15kt yellow gold and portrays a flexible and hollow snake chain that comes together at a charming snake head which rests perfect at the collar of your neck. The chain has a vibrant scale-like appearance and the stunning snake has a mixed metals gold flower and leaf applique design atop its face. Fiery red cabochon garnets act as the snakes eyes and a rhodolite garnet rests at the back of the head as well as dangling from its mouth. The garnet at its mouth is set atop a small heart which has a glass covered locket back. The snake has a fabulous 3-dimensional appearance and the piece looks absolutely wonderful on. The chain clasps at the side of the snake and is hidden within the design. It's a true statement piece that looks fantastic worn. It would make a wonderful addition to any collection!
