An absolutely stunning natural amber necklace from the Victorian (ca1880) era! This gorgeous necklace is comprised of 6 amber links which hang in a festoon style from a 15kt yellow gold braided rope chain. The natural amber stones are oval in shape with a slightly convex face and graduate in size. Each is bezel set with an open back and surrounded by a twisted gold rope frame. The amber has fantastic deep, orange red color which looks wonderful against the vibrant 15kt yellow gold setting and chain. The clasp of the necklace is hidden within a smaller circular amber stone. The necklace rests beautifully along the collar of the neck and looks stunning on. It's a simply marvelous necklace that would be a perfect piece worn for a special occasion!
Measurements: The necklace chain measures approximately 15 1/4" long. The oval shaped amber links range in size from 1 1/4" long and 7/8" wide being the largest and 1" long and 3/4" wide being the smallest. The circular clasp measures 2/4" long and and little less than 5/8" wide.
Condition: The overall condition of the necklace is great. Due to age, the amber does have some wear however this is hardly noticeable when the necklace is worn. There is no damage to the gold setting and the clasp is secure and in good working condition.
