An exquisite coral festoon necklace from the Victorian (ca1800) era! This stunning necklace is made of 18kt yellow gold and gorgeous coral cabochons. The necklace features 8 gold concave discs, which vary in size and are detailed with a twisted gold wire border around the inner rim. Set within the center of each gold is a beautiful piece of polished natural coral. The center of the necklace features three oval-shaped discs that are connected together, with an additional disc that hangs directly below. The smaller discs that rest higher on the necklace are circular in shape and feature round pieces of coral in the center. Connecting each gold disc together are three strands of fine gold chain with flower-shaped coral links. Dangling from the outer strand of the necklace are four teardrop shapes with Etruscan wirework and a gold and coral flower at the end, making a lovely accent to the festoon design. The necklace hangs from a fine gold chain that fastens with a simple spring ring clasp at the back. It’s an absolutely magnificent coral necklace and is certainly a must have for any Victorian collector!
