A stunning sterling and moonstone necklace from the Victorian (ca1880) era! This flowing river of beautiful cabochon moonstones is comprised of 35 bezel and prong set stones that are round and oval in shape. Each stone is set in sterling silver and is joined together by sterling jump rings. The moonstones graduate in size and have a wonderful clear, blue color. At the center of the necklace is a swing-down bail which is perfect for hanging a complimentary moonstone pendant if desired. The clasp rests at the back of the necklace and is hidden within a moonstone link. This fabulous long necklace would look great worn everyday or for a dressy occasion.
Measurements: The necklace measures 17.5" in length. The moonstones vary in size from approximately 11.75mm to 6mm.
Condition: The overall condition of the necklace is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the sterling setting or to the moonstones and the clasp and swing-down bail are secure and in good working condition. There is some naturally occurring crazing inside a few of the moonstones, however, it is hardly noticeable and doesn't take away from the beauty of the piece.
