Victorian 14kt Gold Etruscan & Garnet Pin/Pendant
A fabulous garnet pin/pendant from the Victorian (ca1880) era! This oval shaped piece is made of vibrant 14kt yellow gold and is decorated with gorgeous Etruscan wirework and beadwork. Hand wrought, it is richly detailed and has a three-dimensional look with a single cabochon garnet resting in the center. The stone is bezel set and surrounded by a twisted rope wire border. On the back of the piece are the original c-catch pin clasp and a small round bail which makes it easy to wear as a pin or pendant. This wonderful piece would make a great addition to any Victorian collection!
Measurements: The pin/pendant measures approximately 1 3/4" wide, 1 3/8" tall and has a depth of a little less than 3/4".
Condition: The overall condition of the pin/pendant is excellent. There is no apparent damage to the gold setting or to the Etruscan wirework. The garnet is intact however there are a few very minor and unnoticeable nicks in the stone. The pin clasp and bail are secure and in good working condition.
