An absolutely fabulous and unusual pendant from the Victorian (ca1880) era! This piece, which is round in shape, is made of vibrant 14kt yellow gold. Displayed in the center of the pendant, sandwiched between two pieces of glass, is a disc made of mother of pearl. The mother of pearl has swirling hues of white, pink, blue, and green, which changes as it catches the light. Placed on both sides of the mother of pearl are beautiful, vibrant butterfly wings, along with real, dried flowers and leaves. The wings and dried flowers come together to depict a scene with wonderful fluttering butterflies and flowers. The butterfly wings are lovely shades of pink, orange, brown, green, black, teal and white. The mother of pearl is bezel set with a 14kt yellow gold border that is engraved with a soft floral design. At the top of the pendant is a simple yellow gold ring. It is a one of a kind piece that would make any collection complete!
Measurements: The pendant has a diameter of 7/8” and has a depth of less than 1/8”.
Condition: The overall condition of the pendant is excellent. Besides a few minor surface scratches, there is no serious damage to the glass covering or to the gold. The butterfly wings and flowers are in great condition however have been moved slightly in a few places because of the age.
