A fantastic gold and malachite earring and pendant set from the Victorian (ca1880) era! Each earring is made of 15kt yellow gold and begins with a fan-like surmount that is attached to clasped gold wires. A horizontal bar-shaped malachite stone hangs from surmount and has a gold band wrapped around the center. The gold band displays lovely Etruscan gold wirework and beadwork and attached to the band are 2 delicate gold chains that come together at a malachite ball. A gold band surrounds the ball and has gold wirework and beadwork running along the outside. The complimentary large pendant has the same design and hangs from a simple gold ring. The color of the malachite is absolutely gorgeous with multiple hues of luscious green. This malachite set would make a magnificent addition to any Victorian collection!
Measurements: The pendant hangs approximately 2 1/2" long, is 1 3/8" at the widest point, and 1/2" at the thickest point. Each earring hangs approximately 2 1/2" long, is 1/2" at the widest point, and 3/8" at the thickest point.
Condition: The overall condition of the set is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold and no chips in the malachite.
