A fabulous garnet pendant from the Victorian (ca1880) era! This eye-shaped pendant is made of 15kt yellow gold and is detailed with gorgeous hand etched and navy and white enameling. In the center of the piece is a very large, oval-shaped cabochon garnet, which is bezel set and surrounded by a rope wire border. From the bottom of pendant dangles 17 chain tassels and spears, which are attached at the bottom of the piece, hanging from a moveable "v" shaped bar. The large pendant hangs from a 15kt fluted bail that is accented with fine beadwork. This wonderful piece would make a great addition to any Victorian collection!
Measurements: The pendant hangs approximately 3 1/2" long, is 1 3/8" at the widest point and has a depth of 3/4". The garnet measures 3/4" tall, a little more than 1/2" wide and has a depth of 3/8".
Condition: The overall condition of the pendant is excellent. There is no apparent damage to the gold, enameling, chain tassels or to the garnet stone.
