An absolutely charming turquoise pin from the Victorian (ca1880) era! This wonderful turquoise and silver piece depicts a lovely butterfly and has a 3-dimensional look. Two cabochon turquoise stones form the body of the butterfly and two rubies act as the eyes. Silver wings sprout from the body with 3 smaller turquoise stones set in each. The butterfly has 4 bent silver legs that rest beneath the body and antennae that sprout from the top. On the back of the piece is the original c-catch clasp. It's a wonderful pin and a must have for the butterfly collector!
Measurement: The pin measures a little less than 3/4" tall, is 1" at the widest point and has a depth of 1/4".
Condition: The overall condition of the pin is excellent. All of the turquoise stones are intact and there is no apparent damage to the silver setting besides very minor surface wear. The pin clasp is secure and in good working condition.
