Born in Florence, Elsa Peretti's first introduction with her collection began at Tiffany & Co. in 1974. During that time her collection debuted to high acclaim. Peretti's designs are translated in a wide variety of materials, however her most popular designs are her works in silver.

This unique Vintage (ca1970) serpentine bracelet from Tiffany & Co. is one of Elsa Peretti's iconic snake designs! While other similar snake designs can still be found in her necklaces and belts, the bracelet is a rare and collectable find. Made of sterling silver, the piece is comprised of flexible graduated links that form the body and tail of a long snake. According to Peretti, who found snakes to be attractive creatures and was fascinated by their mechanics, the inspiration for the design came from a rattlesnake tail that was given to her for good luck. At one end of the bracelet is a silver snake head, which also serves as the clasp, with a hinged jaw that opens and allows the end of the tail to be threaded through the middle, fastening the bracelet shut. The unique and flexible design of the piece makes the bracelet adjustable, allowing it be worn on a large or small sized wrist and the tail simply dangles down. The underside of the snake's neck is signed with the authentic "PERETTI" and "TIFFANY + CO" signatures. Both versatile and fashionable, the bracelet has a fabulous look that would compliment any jewelry collection. It's a unique piece from a legendary jewelry maker would be perfect for any snake lover!
