A bold Vintage amber pendant from the 1970s! This stunning piece features a large, oval-shaped piece of polished Baltic amber, which has an intense sunset orange color and contains several natural inclusions which are visible when caught in the light. The amber is turned sideways and suspended between two gold oval rings made of 14kt rose gold. The unique design leaves open space at the top and bottom of the ovals and allows the sandwiched amber to extend beyond the rose gold setting at either side. The overall effect is almost reminiscent of the shape of an eye. At the top of the pendant is a simple gold bail, allowing it to be hung from a simple gold chain. The bail is stamped "583" and also bears a Russian hallmark. A bold and stunning piece, this attractive pendant would make a marvelous addition to any collection!
Measurements: The pendant hangs 2 1/2" long, is 1 3/4" wide, and approximately 3/8" at its thickest point.
Condition: The overall condition of the pendant is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the amber or the rose gold setting, and the bail is secure and intact.
