A gorgeous and unusual Victorian (ca1880) pin.  This beautiful piece is made of 14kt yellow gold and is set with sapphires and diamonds. The pin, which has a high carat gilt wash, has 10 mine cut diamonds and 10 brilliant blue sapphires. The piece looks to me to have once been an actual man's belt buckle which was later turned into a large pin. Although the belt prongs are still present in the center of the piece, they have been tacked down so that they no longer move.  There is a secure clasp on the back with a safety for extra security.  A very unusual and fun piece!
 

Measurements: The overall size of the pin measures approximately 3 3/16" long and 2 5/16" wide.  The border of the pin where the stones are measure approximately 3/8" wide and is 3/16" thick.

Condition: The overall condition of the pin is excellent.  There are some very minor surface scratches on the gold which is not uncommon for a Victorian piece but all of the stones are intact and in excellent condition.  The clasp is secure and in good working condition.
