Victorian 15kt Gold & Turquoise Earrings
Incredible earrings from the Victorian (ca1880) era! These fabulous 15kt yellow gold hanging earrings begin with a gold wire which attaches to a fleur de lys-like surmount. Below the fleur de lys top is an ornate and symmetrical gold panel that attaches to the surmount. In the center of the design are 4 vibrant calibrated turquoise stones that lie in a raised rectangular box. Hanging from the bottom of the turquoise box is a gold bar with a large hollow ball at the end. The bar swings freely between the gold panel which adds to the detail of these wonderful earrings. The symmetrical panel has a hand engraved and textured border. These earrings are absolutely stunning and would make a gorgeous addition to any collection!
Measurements: The earrings hang approximately 2" long. They measure approximately 3/4" at the widest point and the gold balls have an approximate depth of 5/8".
Condition: The overall condition of the earrings is excellent. There is no apparent damage to the wires and all of the turquoise stones are intact. There are a few very minor dents and scratches in the surface of the gold balls which are not noticeable when worn and does not take away from the beauty of the earrings.
