Victorian 15kt Yellow Gold Horseshoe Earrings
Lucky horse shoe earrings! These fabulous 15kt yellow gold earrings are from the Victorian era (ca1880) and portray a classic symbol of luck and good fortune. Each earring begins with a gold ball surmount which rests at the base of a gold wire. A 15kt yellow gold horseshoe loops through the bottom of the gold ball and hangs fairly long. In the center of the horseshoes is a single, free swinging bar with a gold ball on it. Very light in weight and comfortable to wear, the earrings look wonderful when worn. They have a simply yet lovely design and are a must have for any horse lover!
Measurements: The earrings hang approximately 1 5/8" at the longest point, a little less than 3/4" at the widest point and are 1/8" thick.
Condition: The overall condition of the earrings is excellent. There is no apparent damage to the gold or to the wires. The earrings could be polished for a cleaner, more modern look, however we chose to leave the subtle natural patina which is seen on some areas of the gold.
