Late Art Deco Hungarian Silver Gilt Citrine Earrings ca1930
Absolutely stunning Hungarian earrings from the late Art Deco (ca1930) era! These fabulous, long hanging earrings are ornately detailed and comprised of gilted silver and citrine stones. Attached to a 14kt gold wire is a round faceted citrine stone which is bezel set and rests in the center of a fancy open gold tone flower. Dangling from the surmount is slightly smaller citrine which is again bezel set within an open floral setting. Swinging from the center stone is a much larger, ornately decorated gold link which also has an open and ornate border. There are 3 more bezel set citrines, 2 smaller round stones and 1 large oval shaped stone in the center. On each side of the largest and faceted citrine is a single seed pearl. The gilted silver appears to have originally had a black and white enameled surface which has gradually worn away in many places. Scrolled and flowing, these earrings are simply marvelous and a must for the Hungarian jewelry collector!
Measurements: The earrings hang approximately 2 3/8" long, approximately 5/8" at the widest point and have a depth of 1/4".
Condition: The overall condition of the earrings is great. Besides the wear to the enameled surface, there is no apparent damage to gilt silver setting or gold wires and all of the stones are intact.
