Late Art Deco 14kt Floating Opal Ball Pendant
An absolutely fabulous and unusual floating opal pendant from the late Art Deco (ca1931) era! This stunning piece is comprised of a single hand blown glass bulb which has numerous floating opal pieces inside. The vibrant opal chunks float freely in oil, allowing slow movement of the colors to sparkle in the light. A tulip shaped 14kt yellow gold cap finishes the top of the pendant perfectly, complete with a soft heart motif and the entire piece hangs from a simple gold bail. The top of the cap is stamped: "14K PAT 10.13.31". The beautiful design creates a colorful and mystical look and the pendant looks exquisite on. It would make a wonderful addition to any collection!
Measurements: The floating opal pendant hangs 1 5/8" long and is a little less than 5/8" at the widest and thickest point.
Condition: The overall condition of the pendant is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the crystal and opal ball pendant or to the gold accents.
