A stunning diamond crescent pin/trembler hairpin from the Victorian (ca1880) era crafted by Hamilton & Inches! This gorgeous piece is made of sterling topped 15kt gold and forms the shape of a sparkling crescent. Adorning the front surface of the pin are 15 old mine cut and 2 old rose cut diamonds. The diamonds are bead set and are graduated, with the larger diamonds at the center and the smaller Rose Cut diamonds at the tips. The overall total approximate diamond weight for the piece is 2.00ctw and the stones exhibit I/J range color and VS1-VS2 range clarity. Along the outer side edge of the pin is a scalloped wirework design and the back of the pin reveals a simple bar pin with the original c-catch clasp and a threaded hole behind the largest stone. An included a two pronged hairpin can be screwed into that hole and holds the pin above the hair on a spring, allowing the centerpiece to move and "tremble" when moved. The pin is held in its original box from Hamilton & Inches, the top of which can be removed to stow the hairpin backing. A truly gorgeous piece, this sparkling pin looks stunning when worn and would make a fantastic addition to any collection!

Measurements: The crescent measures 7/8" in diameter and is just under 1/4" at its thickest point. The trembler hairpin backing is approximately 3 3/4" long.

Condition: The overall condition of the pin is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the sterling topped gold, and the diamonds are all intact. The pin clasp fastens securely and is in good working order. The trembler hairpin backing screws in well and is in good condition
