A lovely gold locket from the Victorian (ca1880) era! Heart in shape and made of 15kt yellow gold, this beautiful locket displays a crescent and star design on its face.The crescent moon is made up of eleven old mine cut diamonds graduating in size, with the largest in the center of the moon. To the right of the crescent is a stunning hand etched starburst with a single old mine cut diamond set in its center. The back of the large locket is engraved with the monogramed letters "MM". The locket, which hangs from a gold bail, opens at the side of the heart to reveal a spot for your favorite photograph. Also found inside the locket is the etching "1903". This wonderful piece would look lovely worn alone or with other complimentary lockets!
Measurements: The heart locket hangs a little more than 1 3/4" long, is a little less than 1 1/2" wide and less than 1/8" thick.
Condition: The overall condition of the locket is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold or the diamonds, all of which are intact.
