A gorgeous diamond starburst pin or pendant from the Victorian (ca1880) era! Crafted in 15kt yellow gold and topped in sterling silver, this beautiful piece is comprised of 40 Old Mine Cut diamonds that surround a single larger Old Mine Cut center stone. The diamonds are both bead set and collet set and range in size, weighing a total approximate weight of 3.0ctw. It has a wonderful, slightly convex shape with a fabulous 3-dimensional look, and the eight spokes each featuring a bezel set diamond add wonderful flare. This naturally patinaed, magnificent piece may be worn as a pendant or as a pin. The pin piece is removable and screws into the back of the star and can be taken off to allow the pendant to hang nicely on your favorite chain. It would make a perfect addition to any collection!
Measurements: The piece measures approximately 1 3/8" in diameter.
Condition: The overall condition of the pin is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the sterling topped gold setting and all of the diamonds are intact. The sterling silver has a natural patina, typical of pieces from the Victorian era. The pin clasp and bail are secure and in good working condition.
