A carved anchor link chain necklace from the Victorian (ca1880) era! This fabulous piece is comprised of gilded sterling links which alternate with hand carved ivory anchor links which come together to form a long, ornate chain. This common Victorian link is what the modern "Gucci link" was replicated from. The necklace clasps at a sliding lobster clasp which is stamped "STERLING". The chain has a beautiful and bold look and looks fabulous on. It would make a fabulous addition to any collection!
Measurements: The chain measures approximately 28.5" long and a little more than 1/4" at the widest.
Condition: The overall condition of the chain is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there are no serious damage to the ivory and sterling links and the clasp is secure and in good working condition.
