A wonderful sterling ball pendant from the Victorian (ca1880) era! This lovely piece is made of sterling silver and round in shape. The entire surface of the pendant displays a beautifully engraved design, adding texture and depth to the piece and at the top and bottom is an engraved flower, giving the piece a feminine touch. The ball pendant hangs from a simple sterling bail and a small raised ball on the outside surface serves as a handle near the seam. The ball opens to reveal a hollow compartment inside and the original mirror, which is removable. The inside rim of the piece is stamped "STERLING". It's a fabulous and very beautiful pendant that would look perfect worn on a simple sterling chain. It would make a lovely addition to any collection!
Measurements: The ball pendant hangs 1 3/8" long and has a diameter of approximately 1 1/8".
Condition: The overall condition of the pendant is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the sterling and the bail is intact. The piece opens easily and closes securely. The mirror inside shows some normal signs of age, however it is still functional and the wear is not noticeable when worn.
