A charming Victorian horseshoe compass pendant/charm! This unusual piece is from the Victorian period (ca1880) and is made of sterling silver. It depicts a 3-dimensional silver horseshoe with a small round working compass in the center. The horseshoe is detailed with 7 nails (always 7 for good luck) on the sides which adds to the depth of the piece. It is attached to a swivel watch hook which makes it easy to attach to any chain. On the bottom of the compass are several English hallmarks. This fun piece would look great worn as a pendant or a charm and is a must for the horse lover!
Measurements: The horseshoe measures approximately 1 1/8" long, 1" wide and a little more than 1/4" thick. The entire piece hangs 2 1/4" long from the top of the swivel watch hook to the bottom of the horseshoe.
Condition: The overall condition of the piece is great. Although the compass is in excellent condition, there are two dents on the side of the silver horseshoe which is not uncommon for a piece of this age.
