Retro Multi-Colored Bakelite Barrel Link Bracelet
Bakelite is a resin material that was produced in the early 1900's and was the first plastic substance made of synthetic components. Initially used for its electrically non conductive and heat resistant properties in radio and telephone castings, the material was also used in other products such as kids toys, kitchenware and jewelry. Typically made of bold, beautiful colors, Bakelite has become very collectible over recent years and is appreciated amongst many.
A fun Bakelite bracelet! This piece, which is made of multi-colored Bakelite, is comprised of 14 barrel shaped pieces which are strung together on a black elastic cord. It has a pattern of alternating yellow, brown, red, hunter green and light green barrel links. The inside of the barrels are smooth and flat which makes it very comfortable when worn. The elastic cord makes it easy to slide over most sized hands but would fit best on a small wrist. A great, easy to wear piece that would make a great addition to any collection!
Measurements: Without being stretched, the opening where your wrist would lay has a diameter of 2". Each barrel shaped link measures approximately 1" long, 1/2" wide and 3/8" thick.
Condition: The overall condition of the bracelet is excellent. There is no apparent damage to the Bakelite and the elastic cord is secure.
